Hanging Lake Hike

A friend of mine hiked Hanging Lake a few weeks ago. He took some amazing pictures of the clear water and fall colors. The hike is an mile and a half up with mild to steep terrain. Here is the picture.

This is a wonderful hike. With an upper and lower lake. It is steep, and takes about 2 1/2 hours to hike up, but I did it easily with a 2 week old baby. On the hike down however, I got down in about 20 minutes. This is a hike I take all my guests on.

This really is an amazing hike – but make sure to check before you make the trip that it’s open. They are doing maintenance on the trail so I have heard that it is going to be closed during the summer of 2010.
I ran into a family who came here from Nebraska just to hike, but instead enjoyed a fun day at the Glenwood Caverns, which I highly recommend!
