If you aren’t in the Cajun mood when you are at the Bayou, try the fettuccini alfredo – delicious!

I am from Louisiana, so while visiting GWS I was excited to visit this restaurant, however, the food at The Bayou was notably the worst I have ever had at a restaurant or anywhere else for that matter. The gumbo was a tasteless mush and the fried catfish was so awful I had to douse it in hotsauce to be able to eat it. This restaurant that claims to serve up Cajun style food, would be better off buying Paul Perdomme packaged meals at the grocery store. Utterly unbelievable. OK

I have no idea what Anna is talking about!!! I ate at this resturaunt several years ago and it was amazing! When I was planning my next visit I wanted to make sure that they still existed and where they were. Anna’s review made me hesitate a little but when I got there it was even better than I had remembered.

Everyone is a cajun food conniseur when it comes to cajun food. I’ve had real cajun food in New Orleans and this restaurant is every bit as good as what I had in the french quarter. Don’t believe the things people tell you when they “claim” they lived in New Orleans.I have a Cajun restaurant and this one is very good.
The ambience and service was excellent.

This is the worst restaurant in glenwood springs. I have been forced into eating there a number of times and if it is at all possible the food and the service are getting worse every time I go. Now I know how not everything goes perfect every time but they haven’t even given me anything close to cajun food … or even store bought cajun.
I will not be back. EVER.
And I hope you will save your self the extra high prices and total disappointment.

I am a buisness owner that took my crew out for dinner, some beers and some football on Monday night. We are doing a hotel renovation in the area. There was a local man in the bar celebrating hs birthday and obviously a packers fan that continued to antogonize my men. We stayed and had dinner and drinks but the local men continued to antagonize my men. For example my guy had talked to this man about Baltimore losing and how it would help the Broncos and this guy flew off the handle about f- the Broncos and their schedule. There were some words exchanged and the bartender had to ask both my guy and the man to calm down. From there this guy was just off the handle. One of my guys used the restroom and when he came out the man waited for him to walk by and threw a fake punch behind my guys head, this escalated into him calling my guy a punk and from there it just got out of control. My guy confronted the man and it ended in the bartender asking us to leave. It is rare that this type of occurence happens and I am very dissappointed at the way the staff of the Bayou handled the situation. When we got up to leave the restraunt after we paid our bill everyone at the bar began to hound us as we walked out the door. For something that escelated from a simple football discussion I would have thought the bar tender could have kept her local guest under control better than that. I think he was out of line and completely at fault for egging my guys on. It is not often that I get to take my guys out for dinner after a hard days work but I will certainly not be returning to the Bayou. I think there staff is rude to outsiders and have no ccontrol over the locals in their establishment. It is unfortunate but during my continued work in the town of Glenwood I will not be returning to the Bayou for a retreat as I think the food is too highpriced and the treatment of guests from out of town is terrible.

The food had never been my favorite, but it’s a good atmosphere to meet with a group for happy hour. Sadly I’m not completely surprised about Dominic’s comments about the bartender/local though. It does seem to be a place where the staff highly prefers us locals.
