Ski, Swim and Stay at Sunlight, Glenwood Springs
Liz | 22 December 2005
We went for the first time to snowboard at Sunlight Mountain Resort in Glenwood Springs this last Saturday. What a great place, I loved the local flavour! We arrived earlier in the day, about 9:30ish and were
amazed that there were so few people on the slopes. The resort has a number of great runs, a few which were more challenging than others. For most of the day we ended up finding a sweet run where no one else seemed to be, lots of powder that gave us a few face shots!
The lifts are not at fast as other resorts, but according to a guy in the bar they have the oldest lift in Colorado, purchased from Aspen. The place was full of young people and the restaurant was hopping with families it is a great resort really close to Glenwood Springs, about 8 or 9 miles out it seems.

The statement “package includes a free children’s lift ticket at Sunlight Mountain” on this site is FALSE! There are no “free” lift or pool tickets as is previous years. If you go to Orbitz or Expedia, look up the room rate and then add the actual cost of lift tickets and pool tickets it is about the same as the “package deals” each individual hotel is currently offering. We are VERY disappointed in this year’s change in pricing and feel your advertising is a SCAM. We, along with 3 other families, have visited the last 2 years using the Ski Swim Stay package and it truly WAS a great deal. Not so in 2008! What happened?
