Riviera Restaurant

Wednesday was girls’ night out and we got together at the Riviera Restaurant in downtown Glenwood Springs for drinks. Originally the Riviera Supper Club, the restaurant was reopened by Colleen Stuart. Colleen has totally revamped the place. The open space with soft colors, low lights and original artwork makes it a perfect place for drinks after work, a date night, or dinner out with the girls.

We intended to start the evening with drinks at the Riviera and move on to another restaurant, but the place had such a good vibe and the staff was so friendly that we m0ved to a table and stayed for dinner. After ordering another round of our girly martinis (I recommend the Angel Kiss with frangelica), we ordered dinner. The salads are huge - perfect for dieters or for the smaller appetite. The bok choy duck salad was tasty - I’d order it again. The greens were fresh, the pieces of fried duck were juicy, and the Asian-inspired dressing was just right. The duck, salmon, and chicken entrees around the table got good reviews. I wouldn’t have expected this to be a place to bring the kids, but the waitress catered to the youngest of our party - two eight-year-olds. While the grown ups were drinking, she brought them chicken fingers and fresh french fries, as well as some beads (maybe left over from New Year’s Eve?).
If you haven’t eaten at the Riviera Restaurant, stop by and give it a try - it’s a welcome addition to downtown Glenwood.

Hello, my name is Carolina, I´m from Argentina and I went to Aspen to work during two winter seasons a couple of years ago where I met Colleen Stuart. Since she opened the Riviera Restaurant I lost touch with her, I was wondering if you can get her email for me please! I really need to get in contact with her again.
Thank you so much

the riviera was horrible! 1st off we were told it would take 15 minutes to be seated and took about 30 minutes. then once seated it was noticed that the platewear is cheesily outdated…trying to pull off a modern/contemporary look that would be cool in the early ’90s….not very practical either…very cumbersome and precarious, loud when the waitress slams and stacks them right by your ear as well.
after ordering we waited ONE HOUR before the waitress came and placed a small plate of ketchup on the table (I suppose for the fries) as a some sort of teaser…we thought we’d be seeing our food soon….we proceded to wait another 15 minutes or so until our food was served…..and mind you, during all this waiting the waitress NEVER aknowledged the inconvience and gave an apology…especially because our group was very nice and we waited very patiently
the portions were horribly small for the “fine dining” pricing
and to end it all….by the time were were leaving it was probably obvious by the looks on our faces that were not happy and the waitress proceded to say “sorry we are so busy” !!!!!!!???? should we have apologized for making her busier and giving them busy-ness? busy is the excuse???? how sad that the place is obviously not equiped for business….a sign that they must not be very busy often and don’t know how to handle it
ALL OVER RATING for the RIVIERA: F
