New World Records for Most Vertical Feet Skiied and Snowboarded in 24 Hours
Host | 13 February 2006
More than 100 people spent all night at Sunlight, not in a warm cozy bed but on the slopes. They raised $15,000 in a first-of-a-kind event for MS and logged two new world records for the most vertical feet skied by a human in 24 hours and the most vertical feet snowboarded by a human in 24 hours.
Greg Hill and Timmy Faust each recorded 32 laps and 50,100 vertical feet on skis and
Jonathan Baker recorded 20,215 vertical feet on a snowboard.
Roaring Fork residents joined together with visitors to hike, ski, snowboard and snowshoe up and down Sunlight’s Beaujolais run from 10 am Saturday to 10 am Sunday. Competing in teams and solo participants stayed awake and pushed themselves to keep going in freezing nighttime temperatures. Congratulations!
