Symphony In The Valley
Jacquie | 22 May 2006
The Mother’s Day concerts were a hit, featuring our Winners of the Young Artist competition for 2006. Under the direction of Wendy Larson Conductor and Artistic Director and John Bokram Associate Conductor the audience was treated to the sweet soprano voices of Lindsay Nelson and Secia Klocke, Aaron Poh stunned the concert hall with his piano concerto, and Mozart never sounded so wonderful under the baton of student conductor Zachariah Milby. This years program included works from Gustav Holst, Engelbert Humperdinck, George Gershwin, Modest Mussorgsky and ended with the delightful Segei Prokofiev’s Peter and the Wolf narrated my Steve Cole.
For those that missed this concert the Symphony In The Valley will be presenting a free 4th of July concert in the band shell at Two Rivers park. Plan to make 4th of July in Glenwood Springs a family event.
