The Rivers Restaurant

If atmosphere is what you are seeking, I highly recommend the Rivers Restaurant located on the Roaring Fork River at 2525 S. Grand Avenue. They have an outside patio directly above the river with a spectacular view of Mount Sopris. I highly recommend the Trout Pate as one of my favorite all-time appetizers.
The menu is a bit pricier than some of the local Glenwood Springs restaurants and the entrees are excellent. Rivers Restaurant is a good place to go on a special occasion.
It has a separate bar, which is good for happy hour and appetizers. The restaurant is surrounded by windows, which is another real plus on a pleasant spring, summer or fall evening.
Rivers is also a popular Sunday brunch spot, and is usually pretty busy with a meal a bit nicer than many of our local diner breakfast spots.

The trout pate is my favorite appetizer. I also like the Elk medallions for dinner. They do a pretty good deal too if you split a dinner and add an extra salad… good way to save some money and eat a bit lighter. Also, Rivers probably has the absolute best summer happy hour, with their un-equaled deck.

The Rivers is my favorite restaurant in town. They offer a delicious variety of food (meat, fish, vegetarian, etc.) and have good service. In summer, you have a great view from the deck onto Mt. Sopris.

Rivers is also really livening up their night life with live music every Friday night. They cover most genres and the atmosphere has really improved with the no smoking laws.
