Hanging Lake is about a two mile round-trip hike. The hike is very vertical and of moderate difficulty. Access to the trailhead is from I-70 eastbound only. Which means that if you are heading westbound on I-70, you must go past the trailhead to the next exit, Grizzly Creek, and turn around and head back east to the Hanging Lake exi
There are NO DOGS and NO FISHING. Get ther early to beat the crowds or go in the off season… this is a popular trail!

I love this hike! It is a moderately hard hike, but well worth it. I recommend going in the late spring (yes, there might still be a bit of snow!) But there are not nearly as many people, because the summer crowd there can be crazy. Take a camera.
Note: you can not take your dog! Bummer, but still a great hike.

This is a tough hike but well worth the reward of the view at the top, plus it is downhill the whole way back to the car!

What a great little hike! The falls at the top were defiantly worth every step!

Definitely one of my favorite hikes in the area. Because of the popularity of this trail, I recommend getting started around 8am to avoid a lot of the traffic and to avoid some of the heat.

The best part of the hike is the wonderful view of the Glenwood Canyon. It is not too long and if it is not crowded it is a fun trail run for you runners out there.

If you can make it past the snow patches in the early spring, the waterfall is frozen and is an incredible sight! Excellent pictures for the scrapbook.
