The Glenwood Springs Community Center is a 17 million dollar multi-use facility that features a seasonal covered NHL size ice rink (Nov.-Mar.), climbing wall, internet lab, banquet area, childcare, gymnasium, fitness center, 3 outdoor tennis courts, dance studio and aquatic center with 8 competitive swim lanes and an interactive play zone with water slide and a zero depth entry. It is especially popular with locals who enjoy its fitness classes and facilities, ice hockey, gymnasium for Basketball and Volleyball and Pool.

Exercise Facilities: the Community Center features a Cardio Balcony with Indoor Track, Fitness Studio and Indoor Cycling Room. The Cardio Balcony includes treadmills, elliptical cross-trainers, stair climbers, recumbent and upright bikes, Nautilus & Paramount selectorized weights, a Smith Machine, a Preacher Curl, dumbbell weights up to 65 pounds, and back/abdominal benches. Heart rate monitors are also available. The Chakra Studio is the fitness room with a suspension wood floor, mirrors, ballet bar and is equipped with an array of exercise tools including fit balls, hand weights, resistance bands, body bars, jump ropes, steps, yoga props and more. The Indoor Cycling room features LeMond RevMaster stationary bikes.

Cimbing Wall: All wall users must undergo a Top Rope Orientation prior to accessing the wall. This orientation is a review of the regulations, how to belay, tie basic knots, how to properly use the Auto Belay devices, and use the proper commands needed to pass the certification test.

Kidcare: The Glenwood Springs Community Center has an excellent Kidcare program with a dedicated facility and staff. Kid Kare is available on a first-come, first-served basis for a maximum of 2 hours. Kidkare is for children ages 1 (and walking) through 7 years.
Cost:
- Free to youth who are Community Center members. Two hour maximum.
- $4.00 / session / child / R
- $6.00 /session / child / NR
- 10 visits Punchpass: $40 R / $50 NR

We purchased a family membership this year and really enjoy using the facilities. The ladies that run the KidKare center are the best. My four year old loves going there because of all the great arts and crafts they do with the children. Also, a section of the pool is geared for kids with a slide and an assortment of water toys. However, call before you plan a day at the pool, it seems to have gotten better but for awhile the pool was understaffed and the hours were limited.
