Glenwood Springs Fall Fishing
AmyT | 24 September 2007
Autumn offers some of the best fishing in Glenwood Springs and Colorado with all types of species biting best this time of year. As the days grow shorter the fish begin feeding more to prepare themselves for winter and the colder waters move the fish closer to the surface. Unfortunately, with all the recent rain it has clouded up the rivers and made it more difficult. The rain and high waters stimulate more sediment in the rivers, it gets mucky and the flies die quicker. But it can’t rain forever and a fall fishing trip is well worth your time. Prior to all the recent rain the fishing on the Colorado River from Glenwood Springs to Rifle has been spectacular, especially with the crowds depleting after Labor Day. For a current fish report visit the Colorado Division of Wildlife.
