Glenwood Springs has a new restaurant worth trying. The Zheng Asian Bistro is located in the Meadows Mall next to Moe’s. The food is delicious, especially their seafood dishes. We enjoyed appetizers and cocktails at the bar before being seated for dinner. Start with the Crab Ragoon and I highly recommend their Chinese Chicken Salad. The atmosphere is modern and fun. A great place to take a date or that special someone.

They also offer some great specials on Saturday and Sunday. Two for one lunch entrees from 11:00 a.m. till 3:30 p.m. and a free appetizer with the purchase of a regular entree if you show them your ski pass or lift ticket after 4:00 p.m. Check out their menu.

CharcoalBurger Drive Though is conveniently located on the West side of town on Highway 6 - an old fashioned burger drivethrough. This is what fast food used to be before all the big franchises took over. Stop here next time instead of BK, Mcburger or Windy’s and enjoy a made to order cheeseburger.

The Italian Underground is a favorite of Glenwood Springs locals. It is located downtown in one of the oldest buildings in Glenwood with a truly Italian atmosphere. It is the perfect location for a family feast. The food is excellent and entrees include salad, bread and gellato for dessert. Worth the wait. They do not accept reservations but if you arrive early you can usually be seated quickly.

Juicy Lucy’s is a Glenwood favorite.

Locals eat here for lunch regularly. The are known for good beef: steaks, burgers, etc.

It is a family style restaurant offering American cuisine including steaks, with seafood, chicken and pork dishes. The restaurant has an extensive wine cellar.

If atmosphere is what you are seeking, I highly recommend the Rivers Restaurant located on the Roaring Fork River at 2525 S. Grand Avenue. They have an outside patio directly above the river with a spectacular view of Mount Sopris. I highly recommend the Trout Pate as one of my favorite all-time appetizers. (more…)

Located two miles south of the Host Springs Pool next to Factory Surplus at 2830 S. Glen Ave. China Town offers Chinese and Japanese cuisine. If you like Japanese, they have excellent rolls and Tempura. Also, affordable and tastey lunch specials and free delivery.

Tequila’s is one of Glenwood’s favorite Mexican restaurants. It is almost always busy and the the food is served up in a timely fashion. Try the margaritas, they are excellent! Watch out for pie in your face on your birthdays.

Open Seven days a week. Until 10 on weedays and 11 on weekends.

The Marble Slab Creamery Ice Cream Just the way you like it! The Marble Slab offers up Super Premium Ice Cream with yummy mix-ins like oreos and jellydrops. The ice cream is made fresh each day and there is nothing there fat free.
