Rosie’s Little Bavarian Restaurant, Glenwood Springs

We recently had the pleasure to dine at a local breakfast spot Rosie’s Little Bavarian Restaurant in Glenwood Springs. It has some mixed reviews on Trip Advisor but was voted the #1 breakfast in the area by the Post Independent readers. It seems pretty small from the outside however when we stepped inside I realized that it opened out into two distinctive dining areas and was much larger and brighter than I expected. My eyes fell on the desert counter as soon as we stepped into the waiting area. A display of homemade European deserts such as Apple Torte and different Strudels, I made a mental note to leave room for desert. Themed with Swiss Alps photos and memorabilia the place is clean and the staff was friendly and efficient.![]()
We were seated at a little table by the window and I first noticed that there seemed to be lots of locals dining, always a good sign when you are from out of town. If you can find a spot where the locals eat it is usually good. We were not disappointed.
My vegetarian eating partner did not take long to figure out what he wanted, usually when we eat out for breakfast, he is stuck choosing between pancakes and an omelet which are usually his only options, but was delighted to find a veggie eggs benedict.
The food was great, hot and quickly served with lots of coffee and tea refills, it is reasonably priced and the whole experience set us up for a great day snowboarding.

Are you looking for a home-cooked lunch during the work week? Short on time and on the go? Stop by the corner of 8th and Colorado and visit Shane at The Stock Pot he can help. Dont let the hot dog stand fool you, his Crab Bisque is to die for, his Chicago Dog is unparallelled in the area. Mushroom and Artichoke sauce with Grilled Chicken over Fettuccini more your style? Shane can oblige. He has a rotating menu but you are sure to find that perfect lunch item. Sometimes I can hardly wait to get it back to the office to start eating. Rain or shine, youc an always stop by for a quick lunch and a smile.
