Santa Tracking Site

Waiting for SantaDid you know that it is possible to find out where Santa is on Christmas Eve? NORAD has been tracking Santa for more than 50 years. It all starts with the NORAD system at the North Pole. Known as the North Warning System it uses a powerful long-range radar system that has 47 installations across the northern border of North America. As clocks around the world turn from Christmas Eve to Christmas Day, NORAD makes a point of checking the radar for signs of Santa and his sled.

The system uses four high tech tracking systems;

  • Radar
  • Satellites
  • Santa Cams
  • Jet Fighter Aircraft

The moment the North Warning System alerts NORAD that Santa has lifted off the other systems go into effect, tracking Santa as he travels around the world. The satellites has infrared sensors that can detect the infrared signature given off by Rudolf’s nose.

  • The Stock Pot Don’t let the hotdog stand fool you, this is some great home cooking comfort food.
  • Charcoalburger drive through - offers great burgers including Elk, Buffalo and Vegetarian. Fresh cooked at order time, so even though it is fast food it is unlike any of the big chains.

Lavender & Thyme is located in downtown Glenwood Springs and is pretty close to the local restaurants and within walking distance of the Hot Springs Pool. Built in 1903 it is a Victorian style B&B decorated in antiques. In the summer you can sit on the wrap around porch and watch the world go by, and then in the winter if you don’t want to hike down to the hot springs pool, you can just hang out in the hot tub or sit by the fire.
If the paranormal is your thing, then you will be intrigued by the story that Doc Holiday is buried under the master bedroom….

  • Rooms have queen beds and private baths
  • Bathrobes
  • Refrigerator
  • Coffee Machine
  • Awarded the “USA Top 100 Gold Inns & B&B Award”
