The 2006/2007 Colorado Pass and Buddy Pass are now on sale through May 14th. If you are planning to get a pass next year then now is the time. The Colorado Pass is only $379 /Adult, $279/kids and $159/child. It includes unlimited, unrestricted skiing and riding at Keystone, Breckenridge, and Arapahoe Basin, and 10 days at Vail and Beaver Creek. (Restrictions for Vail and Beaver Creek apply.) But still at around $75 a ticket at Vail, this year you soon pay for the pass if you go skiing more than 5 times at that rate.

MORATORIUM IN GLENWOOD?
The Glenwood Springs City Council voted unanimously Thursday to draft an ordinance for City Council consideration in February that would place a moratorium on all new development on the south side of the city for six months to study future sewer, transit and transportation needs.

SILVERTREE SOLD?
One of Snowmass Village’s oldest and largest properties, the 260-room Silvertree Hotel, the 160-room Wildwood Lodge and the Snowmass Conference Center, is under contract for sale to a group of local investors, including Basalt developers Jim Light and Jim Chaffin. The investors have recently purchased the Snowmass Center and much of the Snowmass Mall.

GLENWOOD SALES SOAR
Sales tax revenues in Glenwood Springs in November totaled $998,263, up a whopping 33% over the $747,872 in November 2004. The city’s lodging tax, which generates funds for tourism promotion, had $30,298 in collections, up from $25,284 in November 2004. Overall, sales tax collections for the first 11 months of 2005 were almost 9% higher than the corresponding period in 2004.

LINING UP TO LAND
On Monday, 350 planes went in and out of Aspen/Pitkin Airport, well beyond the 14 to 15 that can land per hour. Last year, on the same day, 313 planes came in and out. The computerized landing system which books landing slots received 30,000 hits this year and more than 100 private jets were denied a landing slot this year at the airport.

EAGLE, PITCO BOTH TOP $2B
Real estate sales in Pitkin County totaled $2.2 billion as of Dec. 12, well above last year’s record of $1.6 billion, and Eagle County has totaled $2.4 billion in real estate sales so far this year, also higher than last year’s total of $2.3 billion. Garfield County sales are also well above last year’s record, with some $800 million in sales so far, compared with a record $570 million last year.

GARCO: RECORD DRILLING
The Colorado Oil and Gas Conservation Commission reported Wednesday that 40% of natural gas development and production occurred in Garfield County, an all-time high, with 1,800 drilling permits to be issued this year. Garfield County now has 2,905 active wells, second in the state only to Weld County’s 11,314.

RULISON FIRE CAUSES SHUTDOWN
An explosion at a Williams Production compressor station between Rifle and Rulison and resulting fire Tuesday forced the shutdown of the compressor. About 80 wells fed into the compressor station and the shutdown will cause the loss in production of about 15 million cubic feet of gas per day.
